‘Deadpool 2’ Cast News: Mackenzie Davis in Talks to Play Domino

Rumors have been circulating over the net regarding the details of the casting of characters to appear in Deadpool 2. Mackenzie Davis was said to be in talks for a role in the sequel and she was quick to clear up the speculation.

Among those much-anticipated roles for Deadpool 2 would be of the time-travelling mutant Cable and, of course, Domino. According to Cinema Blend, many fans have been asking her whether or not she is going to play the mutant assassin as well as another love interest for the merc with a mouth. Davis states, “…It’s very interesting. People keep sending me printouts being like, ‘This is so cool!’ and I’m like ‘Right?’ I also think it’s cool, but it’s not true!” dispelling the rumors.

Even though Fox has not approached her for the role, it is still likely that they would in the future. And if they would, Davis is happy to take on the role.

News reports have also revealed that actor Kyle Chandler was approached for the role, according to Nerdist. But no confirmation has been given yet regarding who is going to be cast as Nathan Summers. The casting of Cable proves to be a very important one in order to push through, not only with Deadpool 2, but also with the X-Force movie purported to be in the works. Fan favorites for the role include Stephen Lang, Dolph Lundgren and Ron Pearlman.

The plot details are still unknown as the script is still in development, but production is expected to start as soon as January 2017. Tim Miller is back to direct the sequel and Ryan Reynolds will reprise his role as Deadpool. But as Reynolds hinted in the movie’s post-credits scene, he will be teaming up with Cable in this one.

Meanwhile, the upcoming Wolverine 3 movie is going to premiere next year as well. Stay tuned for more news regarding the Deadpool 2 cast.

Deadpool 2 is scheduled for release on January 18, 2018.
