‘Indiana Jones 5’ 2019 News: Everything We Know So Far

Indiana Jones 5 2019 news

Harrison Ford will reprise the iconic role for Indiana Jones 5 and will be released in July 2019.

Earlier this year, the fifth installment of the Indy franchise was green-lighted. Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn stated, via Deadline, “Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019.”

There is still no information on what Indiana Jones 5’s story will be, but the plot is already under development by highly-acclaimed director Steven Spielberg.

LOOKING BACK

Indiana Jones is a famed archaeologist and explorer. He is first introduced in the movie Raiders of the Last Ark in 1981. Three more movies are made after: Indiana Jones the Temple of Doom (1984), Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade (1989) and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008).

In the last movie, Indy fans were introduced to Jones’ son Mutt played by Shia LeBouf. As of now, there is still no news if we will be seeing more of Mutt, as there is no cast yet aside from Ford.

Although many were disappointed with the last released movie, it was still a box office hit. All in all, the four movies garnered around $2 billion total.

The production team will be back for the fifth instalment, BREATHEcast reported. Steven Spielberg will return as the director. The script will be written by Spielberg’s long time collaborator David Koepp who also wrote Jurassic Park (1993) and co wrote Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008).

Indiana Jones veterans are present – story creator and executive producer George Lucas, producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall, and composer John Williams. They have been a part of most, if not all, Indy movies.

MORE OF FORD’S ICONIC ROLES

While waiting for the motion film of Indiana Jones 5 (2019 is still quite far), Indiana Jones’ animated movie by Patrick Schoenmaker will be out online this month. The project, commissioned by Lucasfilm, took five years to complete.

Another continuation of an iconic movie by Ford titled Blade Runner is in the works. Armed with a star-studded cast – Ryan Gosling of Gangster Squad and Jared Leto of Suicide Squad – the still-untitled sequel will be released globally on October 6, 2018, according to news.
