As Outlander Season 3 premieres in 2017, the show’s spoilers indicate that the producers have cast two faces that will play an important part in the story arc. They have found their young Ian Murray and John Abernathy.
According to E! Online, they have cast actors John Bell to portray the younger version of Ian Murray and Wil Johnson to play John Abernathy in Outlander Season 3. Even though they are in the same series, it is unlikely that they will be seen in the same scene together as they are from different points in time.
A set of spoilers told by Variety, reveals that the younger version of Ian Murray, Jamie’s nephew is charming and adventurous and is more like his uncle rather than his own father. As the series progresses, so will Murray’s character and he will try to constantly prove himself that he is a man.
John Abernathy is Claire’s friend and colleague in 20th century Boston. The two of them met in medical school and have been friends ever since. They both share the same struggle of being in an all-white and all-male medical field, which is also what brings them closer and strengthens their friendship.
Bell was previously in the movie The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies and Johnson was previously in the show Waking the Dead.
Another set of spoilers for Outlander Season 3 reveals that it will pick up where Season 2 left off. Claire comes back to her life in 1948, Jamie copes with losing Claire and the after effects of the battle at Culloden and the two of them try to move on with their lives without each other. The new season is based on Diana Gabaldon’s third Outlander novel, “Voyager.”
