Brad Pitt is “so torn up and shattered” for not seeing his kids after ex-wife Angelina Jolie filed for a divorce.

The 52-year-old actor is currently facing allegations of child abuse after the alleged altercation that occurred during the family’s flight from France to California. In their private jet, Pitt allegedly got “verbally abusive” and “physical” with one of his children, who is reported to be their oldest son Maddox, 15, while in the presence of the younger children: Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8.

An anonymous caller reported the incident to the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services.

The event supposedly happened the day prior to Jolie filing divorce against the 12 Years a Slave actor, prompting speculations that the incident triggered Jolie to file the divorce immediately.

Two days before going through the proceedings, the two sat down and talked. Jolie explained to Pitt everything and told him to file the divorce together.

Pitt, a source tells People Magazine, is thinking of their children’s sake and wants to proceed quietly. He went into therapy and tried to make things better. “He was willing to do anything, change any habit, change any lifestyle, to do what had to be done to make this work,” adds the source.

By doing so, they could protect the kids from the upcoming upheaval.

And then the incident happened.

Us Weekly reports Pitt has not seen his the kids yet and wants to be cleared with the allegations first before he seeing them.

Jolie filed the divorce citing “irreconcilable difference” as reason and, according to Jolie’s rep, the “decision was made for the health of the family.” The Tomb Raider actress is now staying in a rented house with her six children with Pitt.

Angelina Jolie wants sole custody of their kids. On the contrary, Brad Pitt wants shared custody.
