‘Alien: Covenant’ News, Spoilers: Ridley Scott Brings Back the Monsters, ‘Much Scarier,’ Says Michael Fassbender

The next installment of the iconic Alien franchise is underway with Alien: Covenant and Michael Fassbender teases everyone as to what the movie is going to be like. Director Ridley Scott also gives a spoiler on what everyone can expect in the newest movie.

Not many people may have liked Prometheus which is in the same universe because of its lack of focus according to Cinema Blend, but Ridley Scott has heard the pleas of many fanboys and fangirls and went back into what made the first few Alien films so good.

As spoilers suggest, Scott is going to be bringing back the classic creatures from the 1979 movie. In an interview, he mentions the thought process behind this decision. He says that there has always been a discussion on what the Alien really is and on whether the character or the creature would be played out or not among other things.

Another spoiler for Alien: Covenant suggests that the movie’s plot will become the link between the original Alien movies and Prometheus. Alien: Covenant will look into the motivations, methods and mentality of the Engineers, the ones responsible for creating the Xenomorphs.

Michael Fassbender is reprising his role as David in the movie and in an interview with Collider, he mentions what he thinks Alien: Covenant is going to be like. “It’s much scarier than Prometheus, but it’s got that same scope as Prometheus, that imminent disaster feel, that Alien had…I think it’s gonna be super scary, number one…” He also added that it is going to bring chills to everyone who will be watching it as it premieres in 2017.

Alien: Covenant also stars Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Jussie Smollett, Demian Bichir, Billy Crudup, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez, Benjamin Rigby and Alexander England. Noomi Rapace will also be reprising her role for a brief appearance.

Alien: Covenant premieres on August 4, 2017.
