New faces join the cast of Outlander Season 3 as Lauren Lyle takes the role of one of Laoghaire’s daughters while César Domboy is welcomed by Romann Berrux. Berrux, who plays Fergus, will be replaced by Domboy to act as character’s adult version.
Outlander star Caitriona Balfe tweeted Cesar Domboy to welcome him to the cast and said he would have big shoes to fill. Then jokingly added, “Small shoes!?” referring to 15-year-old Berrux’s petite body, as reported by International Business Times.
Sam Heughan joined in the fun. He also tweeted a reply saying, “Very small… Minuscule. Petite.”
Meanwhile, Domboy knows he has shoes to fill in that is well-loved by fans. He wrote to Berrux and complimented him that his Fergus “was so good.”
With that, Berrux welcomed Domboy and tweeted, “Fergus will stay in my heart.” He also told him to enjoy as he will have amazing “co-workers” and fans. Berrux has faith in the actor and says, “I’m sure you’ll do a very good job.”
Berrux played the role of Fergus – a French pickpocket taken under the wing of Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan). Domboy will take the role as a grown man 20 years later.
According to TV Series Finale, Fergus grew up into a handsome and charming man with a strong sense of loyalty; and an unwavering devotion for Jamie.
Lauren Lyle is also added to the cast. She is set to play Marsali, an 18-year-old high-spirited daughter of Laoghaire. Her mother was first seen in Season 1 where she had a crush on Jamie. It then ended when Jamie married Claire.
Filming is currently underway. Some of the cast like Balfe and Tobias Menzies are spotted in Glasgow. There are also claims that from the lands of Scotland and France, they will take the show to the Caribbean this time.
In a previous spoiler, author Diana Gabaldon revealed a scene for the first episode of Season 3.
