The yet-untitled Star Wars Episode 8 has wrapped filming and a cast reveals some spoilers on how the movie will end. A Star Wars veteran confirms his role and mentions a cliffhanger ending for Episode VIII.
To those who grew up in the ’80s and ’90s, Warwick Davis is a familiar face. He is also in some Harry Potter films and many more blockbusters like The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008) and Jack The Giant Slayer (2013).
His most prominent role would be Willow (1988), a high fantasy film directed by Ron Howard from a story by George Lucas whom Davis knew through Star Wars.
Lucas, creator of the Star Wars franchise, tapped Davis to become the legendary Wicket the Ewok who debuted in Star Wars Episode IV: Return of the Jedi (1983). The Star Wars veteran appeared in two more films: Star Wars Episode I – Phantom of the Menace (1999) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015).
He will also appear in the spinoff movie Rogue One showing this Dec. 16, 2016.
In the latest news, the 46-year-old actor confirmed he is cast in Star Wars Episode 8, according to NEWS.com.au.
The Life’s Too Short actor revealed some spoilers for the second installment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy as well.
As production delves into the story of Episode XIII to set up the trilogy, he confessed it will “leave us with some cliffhangers as well which resolve in Episode IX.”
Filming for Episode XIII wrapped up in July, where fans panicked when another cast, Mark Hamill, blurted out, “I’m out of work.” This caused fans to speculate possible spoilers that he will die in the movie, which he later on confirmed that he meant he is out of work until the movie is done with production.
News also circulated that Yoda might return – whether in flesh or as a Force ghost, nothing yet is confirmed.
Star Wars Episode 8 arrives theatres on December 15, 2017, while Episode IX targets a May 24, 2019 release date.
