The cast of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them have reasons to be elated. The movie will hit theaters soon and wonderful memories of New York, where the film was set, linger in their hearts. Recently, some members of the cast revealed why New York City is close to their hearts and what the place means to the new film.

One of the actresses featured in the movie, Carmen Ejogo, revealed that she made New York City her home years ago. She expressed that “the city that never sleeps” has always fascinated her. She said that the film will transport viewers back to a time before the grime and grit of the city got to people and will remind them of New York City’s rich history, Wizards And Whatnot reported.

Ejogo plays Seraphina Picquery, who became the President of the Magical Congress of the United States of America in 1920, and who later must deal with the gargantuan threat of beasts that have escaped from British Magizoologist Newt Scamander’s suitcase.

Other members of the cast also consider being part of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them as quite an experience, more so since they got to work with a brilliant director, David Yates, who directed four Harry Potter movies. The cast of the new movie has been busy the past several months promoting the film through special fan events, live Q&A and tweets.

Envisioned by author J.K. Rowling as a prelude to the Harry Potter saga, the film is set in  1920s  New YorkFantastic Beasts  lets avid fantasy-adventure movie buffs re-enter the wizarding world popularized by Rowling and the talented cast of the Harry Potter movies. It goes back around 70 years before the story of Harry Potter begins.

The movie stars Eddie Redmayne as Scamander, a fictional character in the Harry Potter series, who sets out to track the magical creatures that have escaped. The movie’s title is really a fictional book that is required reading for first year Hogwarts students.

In other news, as the excitement of reliving the journey to a magical world gets feverish, especially as the November 2016 release date nears, merchandising is also at an all-time high.

Google just unveiled its new smartphone and virtual reality headset. Daydream, as it is called, is about the movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and includes a VR remote that functions as a wand to perform virtual magic. It will only work on compatible Android phones, Teen Vogue reported.
