Cate Blanchett Speaks Out on ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Filming Experience: ‘A Riot and Fantastic Fun’

As production of Thor: Ragnarok is still underway, Cate Blanchett has nothing but good things to say about her experience with the entire production.

Cate Blanchett talked about the projects she has coming up including Thor: Ragnarok in a recent interview. Previously, her co-star for Thor: Ragnarok Mark Ruffalo mentioned that her character Hela was “the worst of the worst” to which Blanchett replied that he is the “greenest of the green.” As everyone probably knows by now, Blanchett plays the villainous Hela, the Asgardian goddess of death; so to say that Hela is the worst of the worst would be a great compliment to receive.

Although Cate Blanchett might not have been able to work with Ruffalo as much, given that he has filmed his scenes as the Hulk in advance, she did get to work with Chris Hemsworth and stated that he was “absolutely fabulous.” Ruffalo was not able to film as much with most of the cast, and only occasionally filmed with Hemsworth against a green screen in a soundstage in Australia.

About her experience on set, Blanchett went on to say that “The whole thing was a riot and fantastic fun” as well as praising the film’s director Taika Waititi, saying that he has a very sure hand and that she would eat him for breakfast.

With Thor: Ragnarok in its last few weeks of filming before it undergoes post-production, it is likely that Blanchett has already finished filming her parts in the movie. There are rumors circulating that some of the characters from Thor will be appearing in a post-credit scene for Doctor Strange but as the movie has yet to premiere, it remains to be seen.

Thor: Ragnarok also stars Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins, Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum and Karl Urban. Sam Neill is also confirmed to be part of the cast in an undisclosed role.

Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled to premiere on Nov. 3, 2017.
