Casting Domino for ‘Deadpool 2’: Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Lizzy Caplan Considered

More updates are coming for Deadpool 2 in the form of some casting choices for Domino. Several actresses are included in the shortlist to play the mutant.

Fans will be pleased to know that Deadpool 2 is coming along nicely and the producers are now set on casting Domino, one of two very important roles that are included in the sequel. Previously, Mackenzie Davis was in talks for the role of Domino for Deadpool 2, as well as Ruby Rose, Eve Hewson and Kelly Rohrbach.

Now, a few more actresses are added to the casting list for Domino. Scott Pilgrim‘s Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Lizzy Caplan, Sienna Miller, Sofia Boutella, Stephanie Sigman and Sylvia Hoeks are considered by the producers for the said role. The six actresses are said to have either auditioned or have yet to audition for the role opposite Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool.

In the comics, Domino is also a mercenary and a member of the X-Force. She has the ability to alter probability in her favor. Domino often teams up with Deadpool and Cable, another important character that will be included in Deadpool 2. No word yet on who the producers are looking at for the role of the time travelling mutant, but Kyle Chandler is reportedly being considered.

The casting of both Cable and Domino is very important as they could play a big part in expanding the X-Men cinematic universe. Having Cable and Domino alongside Deadpool could lay the groundwork for a potential X-Force movie.

Meanwhile, there is no word yet on whether Morena Baccarin will be reprising her role as Vanessa or will appear in the movie as her super alter-ego Copycat. Tim Miller is back on board to direct Deadpool 2, and Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are back to writing the screenplay.

Deadpool 2 is expected to premiere sometime in 2018.
