Hollywood celebrities that included “The Voice” hosts Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton joined the cream of the crop  at the final State Dinner hosted by President Barack Obama and his First Lady. Industry observers noted that the Hollaback Girl singer and her country singing superstar beau still make news, but may be pushing their romantic tandem too hard.

Stefani  wowed the crowd that attended the State Dinner held in honor of Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and his wife Agnese Landini.  However, entertainment industry pundits noted that it is about time that the songbird and her man give their act a rest.  There have been many instances not only of their public displays of affection but also their trademark musical performance complete with the “starry-eyed, loved-up stare to show the world just how crazy they are about one another.”

Nonetheless, the White House guests evidently looked forward to getting glimpses of the entertainment during the State Dinner. Among the attendees were famous designers and television personalities who, like Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, excitedly headed to the White House not only to be part of the news but to enjoy themselves.

Though the evening’s guests included famous celebrities, the definite stars of the evening were the White House staff members, whom the Obamas value. Joining them was American chef Mario Batali, who whipped up a four-course meal. Batali tweeted that “it was a pleasure getting to work in the White House” as he posted a snap of himself with Chef Mike Groth.

It was a very busy day for the Obamas that began with arrival ceremonies honoring the Italian Prime Minister. A joint press conference with Prime Minister Renzi was also held in the Rose Garden, whereby the two heads of state addressed pressing news and issues. The State Dinner was capped by the Italian Prime Minister’s toast to Obama that acknowledged his great leadership, followed later on by the rousing performance of  Grammy Award-winning crooner Gwen Stefani.  When the singer was joined onstage by her current love, Blake Shelton, they performed their romantic duet before over 380 VIP guests.
