Prince Charles, Camilla Parker-Bowles Latest News: Duchess of Cornwall Skips Royal GB Reception

Prince Charles, Camilla Parker-Bowles, latest news

The two duchesses in the British royal family seem to attract attention in different ways nowadays. Recently, Camilla Parker-Bowles was unable to join a British royal function for U.K.’s sporing heroes at Buckingham Palace. The latest news arising out of it is that Prince Charles became hugely upset.

The Duchess of Cornwall was said to be at the book launch of his son, Tom Parker-Bowles, an award-winning cookbook author. Close watchers of the British royal family surmised that Prince Charles must have gotten a tongue-lashing or reprimand from Queen Elizabeth over his wife’s absence when Great Britain’s sporting heroes were feted at Buckingham Palace. The report on Prince Charles getting furious or upset with Camilla Parker-Bowles was unconfirmed.

The insinuation that Prince Charles got furious because the Duchess of Cornwall joined her ex-husband at her son’s book launching event proved to be a rumor. The issue is that Camilla Parker-Bowles missed an important Royal function.

The official reception to honor Great Britain’s Rio Olympics sportsmen and women was one of the largest engagements held at the Palace. Team GB hauled many medals, breaking the 2012 London haul. The Paralympics squad brought home from South America 147 medals.

Among the royals spotted greeting the athletes were Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry, and Duke of York, to name some.

The latest news about Prince Charles’ other half Camilla Parker-Bowles missing the GB Reception had gossip-mongers pitting the duchesses against each other again. Recent months have seen Kate Middleton emerging as the most popular and favored royal persona, even as her name was dragged in false news controversies related to speculations about the upcoming wedding of her sister Pippa Middleton.

Camilla Parker-Bowles, for her part, never seemed to have shaken off the negative image of being the third party in  Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage. The Duchess of Cornwall, now 69, is expected to assist Prince Charles in carrying out his official duties. She was also appointed member of the Queen’s formal body of advisers. The latest news showed her in high spirits during the high-profile event she attended with her son and ex-husband.
