The Defenders to Appear in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’: ‘It All Depends on Timing,’ Says Kevin Feige

The biggest movie in the MCU is in the form of Avengers: Infinity War and it goes without saying that it will consist of everyone in the MCU. But it poses the question: Will it be possible to see the Defenders in action along with the Avengers?

Marvel producer Kevin Feige talked about the possibility of having the Defenders: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, appear in Avengers: Infinity War while doing some press for Doctor Strange. Feige stated that it all depends on the timing.

“I don’t think what anybody wants to do is to have such important characters show up for one second,” Feige says.

He added that it takes a lot of screen time and a lot of work in terms of bringing in new characters to the mix so they are still trying to figure everything out to make it happen.

If schedules for the movie could be made without clashing with the filming schedules, then there is a very good chance that the Defenders will show up. If not in Avengers: Infinity War, then maybe in the untitled Avengers sequel. With the success the Defenders have in each of their series and the fans’ high anticipation for their group show, it is only a matter of time before they show up in an MCU movie.

Previously, Cobie Smulders confirmed that she will be reprising her role as Maria Hill in Avengers: Infinity War. Vin Diesel also confirmed that the Guardians of the Galaxy will be joining in as well. Josh Brolin, who plays Thanos, was also previously spotted filming his scenes via motion capture. Spider-Man’s appearance is yet to be determined.

Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled to premiere on May 4, 2018 while The Defenders series will air on Netflix sometime in 2017.
