We get to see where Carol and Morgan have been in the previous season’s finale. Also, we are introduced to a whole new community in The Kingdom led by King Ezekiel. In recent The Walking Dead Season 7 spoilers, we are going to delve deeper on a certain companionship and how it plays out in the comics.
To those who have not read the comics or have not finished it yet and want to see the TV show play out with a clean slate, veer your eyes away as major comic and TV show spoilers are to be revealed ahead.
In Episode 2 titled The Well, we get to catch up on where Carol (Melissa McBride) and Morgan (Lennie James) have been. They are taken into the care of King Ezekiel (Khary Peyton), who is always seen with his tiger Shiva, in The Kingdom in a world he created which is unlike any we have seen before in The Walking Dead.
To those who are keen observers, one might notice Carol and Ezekiel’s relationship has a “potential to eventually mean something” as per The Walking Dead Season 7 spoilers. It is too early to say but with Ezekiel dropping the “medieval” act in front of Carol, sharing his story, convincing her not to leave and knocking at her door with pomegranates, it is safe to assume a little something might be going on there sooner or later.
Assumptions, however, can easily be remedied with the show’s source material up for grabs.
In the comics, Ezekiel does fall for someone and develops a connection with a member of Rick’s (Andrew Lincoln) group. However, it is not with Carol but with Michonne (Danai Gurira). As adaptations always do, they more or less deviate from their source material so the changes are not much of a surprise.
With Rick and Michonne’s relationship in development, Ezekiel might find love in another woman. And as how the introduction of Ezekiel’s world played out, it is safe to assume Carol takes the part of his potential romance.
Changes that are already made from the comics to take note in The Walking Dead Season 7 spoilers include the first Alexandrian introduced to Ezekiel is Rick, not Morgan nor Carol. Notably, Morgan and Carol are long dead in the comics during that time. Along the way, Ezekiel and Michonne’s relationship developed, although it did not end on a happy note.
