Android Nougat 7.0 Update: Secret ‘Partial Screenshot’ Feature Revealed – What Is It About?

The Android Nougat 7.0 update for the popular OS is already out. Android users have been waiting for the new update that will enhance the features of what they are currently using on their devices. It provides a lot of major improvements and refinements compared to the old versions, Lollipop and Marshmallow. New features and updates have surprised some users already, but there are still users who have not seen the capabilities of the recent version.

Reviews over the Android Nougat 7.0 update are all over the internet from one device and eventually, to other phones. The updated OS is loaded with new features that improved the experience of Android users. Some changes are quite obvious, but some are less visible.

The new update of Android Nougat 7.0 featured a new name for the previous Daydream feature. The new name Screen Saver makes more sense than Daydream according to the review. Another one is the Double Tap feature where you can quickly switch between your two most recent used applications.

With Android Nougat 7.0, phones owners who were using the Split-Screen mode can now enjoy the Multi-Window mode. They can use two applications at the same time both in portrait and landscape mode.

Finally, the lock screen can have its own wallpaper different from the home screen. Another feature is the Bundled Notifications where you can see all the notifications in one alert at once. In addition to that, Quick Reply was also added where you can reply to messages from different applications directly from the notifications like Facebook and Twitter.

But what interested Android Google Nougat 7.0 users at Reddit the most is a secret featured called “partial screenshot.” Spotted in Nougat’s AOSP code, the secret feature functions somewhat similar to the desktop screengrab, pretty useful for saving or taking a portion of a wallpaper or picture.

Apparently, this is still not yet released to the public and seems to be under testing, but you could access or use it via NitrogenOS ROM. In the future, perhaps the “partial screenshot” feature might be included in the next Android OS update.

It is clear that the Android Nougat 7.0 update added a lot of great features. There are still more useful stuff that the Android users can find if they are willing to spend time discovering what it has. Recently, Android released a report about Android Nougat 7.1. Its official list of features and functionality are not available to the public yet but is coming soon.
