‘Star Wars: Episode 8’ Leaked Script: How Will Rey ‘Rekindle the Fire’ in the Upcoming Saga?

Star Wars: Episode 8, Episode 8 leaked script, Mark Hamill

Hardcore Star Wars geeks have shared countless theories over the past several weeks about how the circumstances in the continuing adventures of central characters of Star Wars: Episode 8 will unfold. A leaked script containing dialogue between Luke Skywalker and Rey recently sparked interest.

It can be recalled that Star Wars: The Force Awakens had a cliffhanger ending that had Rey, portrayed by Daisy Ridley, coming across a hooded Luke Skywalker (played by Mark Hamill) on top of a hill but they did not throw any lines then.

In the next installment directed by Rian Johnson, the iconic character of Luke Skywalker will tell Rey, “You contain the spark that will rekindle the fire.’”

What the Line in Star Wars: Episode 8 Leaked Script Signifies?

The line culled from the leaked script hints at the big role that Rey may have in the entire Star Wars Universe, beginning with the upcoming movie. Months ago, it was also speculated that Rey could be Luke’s daughter, or Obi-Wan Kenobi’s daughter. Rey may even have royal lineage. The line from the leaked script may signal the state of things to come for Rey, like possibly becoming a Jedi.

Mark Hamill has been quite active on social media, and had occasionally dropped cryptic messages about the upcoming Star Wars: Episode 8 and even Episode IX films. Lately, though, he has refrained from doing that. All that he tweeted recently is that he is “so ready” for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. This Star Wars standalone flick has pulled many movie buffs in. Aside from introducing the rising heroes, Rogue One is said to be a project with an emotional center to it.

As for Star Wars: Episode VIII, leaked script or none, avid Star Wars fanatics are all keyed up and counting the months when it will be shown. Episode 8 is scheduled for release in cinemas in December 2017.
