Nintendo Switch spec rumors announce there will be no Miiverse and Streetpass for the anticipated gaming console. While this may be a disappointment for many fans, Switch still has many features and specs to offer for gamers.

Positioning as an alternative for PlayStation and Xbox, which are mainstays for many households, what sets Nintendo Switch apart is that it can switch from home to portable console playing. As Switch launches later this year, many spec rumors have circulated on what interested players should watch out for, or not.

No Streetpass and Miiverse for Switch

Nintendo 3DS’ StreetPass, a feature that lets players exchange game data when bumping into other 3DS gamers in real life, will not be available for Nintendo Switch as revealed by Nintendo of America’s assistant manager of public relations David Young. According to Young, even though Switch is portable, the exclusion of Streetpass leans into the gaming console as a home system.

Meanwhile, Nintendo’s own social network platform Miiverse for Wii U and 3DS players will also be excluded in Switch as well. That is because the console will use another currently unrevealed platform for Switch players.

Nintendo Switch Details Revealed

Since the gaming console will use cartridges the same as the ones for 3DS, playing anywhere and anytime will be a breeze. Nintendo Switch spec rumors also unveil a share functionality that can let gamers easily record their gameplay with a touch of a button and upload it to Youtube.

There will also be no region lock for Nintendo Switch, which means games bought from anywhere in the world can work on the gaming console. As for the games, Nintendo will assuredly offer many exclusive games while opening its doors to third-party titles, like Dragon Quest, Shin Megami Tensei, and Octopath Traveller.

To those who are interested in getting their hands on the Switch, the console will be released on March 3 for UK and Europe gamers. It will be priced at $299.99 in the US while it will cost £279.99 for buyers in UK and Europe.

With the latest Nintendo Switch spec rumors, more and more gamers are anticipating the release of the gaming console that will be added to their shelves. And the JoyCon, Nintendo’s take on the controller, will undoubtedly offer a colorful and quirky gaming experience.
