The newest movie in the Harry Potter universe has dropped more hints as to what will be happening in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The new plot details reveal that the relationship between the magical community and the no-maj community in the United States is different from that of the United Kingdom.
One of the plot details involves the film’s lead, Newt Scamander, and his suitcase full of magical creatures. According to the official synopsis revealed on Den of Geek, the movie opens in the year 1926 and British magizoologist Newt Scamander has finished traveling all over the globe in search of magical creatures, which he imprisons in his suitcase.
He arrives in New York for a short stopover and ends up on the run as his suitcase is lost. To make things worse, some of those creatures have escaped. With some help from a no-maj named Jacob, as well as sisters Queenie and Tina, Newt also faces another obstacle in his mission to find the escaped creatures; the n0-maj community.
Another thing to note about the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie, as told by Collider, that the plot is not just set in the magical community in the United States, but it also features some socio-political issues as the events in the movie take place during the country’s election period.
One such issue is the relationship between the non-magical community and the magical community in the country. Wizards and witches are forbidden to associate with the no-majs, so there is a sort of separation between the two, with the wizards and witches living in secrecy. The segregation between the wizards and the no-majs poses as a threat to Newt and the gang, in their search of the missing creatures.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them premieres on November 18, 2016.
