A photo from the Russo Brothers’ Facebook page shows Josh Brolin already filming his scenes as Thanos in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1. Details on who else is cast for the movie has been revealed as well.
A few weeks ago, the Russo Brothers posted this photo up on their page, showing Josh Brolin in a purple motion capture suit with the caption “Rehearsal.” And as early as now, they are gearing up for what would be the biggest movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. News about the movie’s cast stated Josh Brolin was to play the Mad Titan himself, who has been making appearances in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, the post-credit scenes of the first Avengers movie and in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Josh Brolin stated, via Cinema Blend, that playing Thanos was one of the most challenging experiences that he has had in years and that he was extremely excited to play the role. “I love the idea of Thanos. Ultimately, it’s Thanos against everyone. Why wouldn’t you do that? It’s a strange thing. I was more nervous doing that than I’ve been for a long time…”
As told by Entertainment Weekly, the movie’s title, Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1, is from the same story in the comics that has the Avengers gathering all the help they need to defeat Thanos, who has the six Infinity Stones and the Infinity Gauntlet. A few of those six Infinity Stones have already been brought up over the past few films.
Vin Diesel confirmed via podcast that the Guardians of the Galaxy will be teaming up with the Avengers in this movie. Apart from the Avengers themselves, there has not yet been any confirmation on who else is joining the cast. Meanwhile, more MCU movies are slated to premiere with Doctor Strange coming out in November this year, Spider-man: Homecoming in 2017 followed by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Thor: Ragnarok and the Black Panther solo movie.
Avengers Infinity War – Part 1 is initially scheduled to come out on April 23, 2018.
