The Incredibles 2 writer and director Brad Bird has shed some light on the progress of production of one of the best super families out there, as well as confirming the expected release date.
According to Entertainment Weekly, who talked to the director himself, he happily gave the good news that production of the sequel is smoothly coming along. He says, “It’s very actively moving, and we’re excited about it.”
The news of the sequel was first made back in 2014 and in 2015. And when asked for an update, Brad Bird stated, via Collider, “I have the story arc. I’m probably three-quarters through the script, but we’re already boarding parts of it. I’ve got a lot of people on the first one working on it, so we’re all having a good time with it.”
Everyone is looking forward to seeing the faces of Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, Dash, Jack-Jack and even the fashion-forward designer to the superheroes, Edna Mode, again. However, there has not been any confirmation on whether the actors who voiced these characters (with the exception of Edna Mode) will be returning for The Incredibles 2.
Not much hints have been given in regards to the characters and the plot, so everything at this point is down to speculation until more news arrives. It is half the fun thinking about what the sequel would be about, now that they have truly become a family of superheroes.
Fortunately the release date for The Incredibles 2 has been revealed. There have been rumors circulating the internet that the sequel would be released around this time in 2016 or in 2018, but the movie’s initial release will be in 2019, around the same time many of the much-awaited superhero movies are scheduled to come out.
The Incredibles 2 is scheduled for release on June 21, 2019.
