Will Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder work together for the season finale of The Vampire Diaries 2016?
Celebrity Dirty Laundry speculated Nina Dobrev might be back for Season 8 after Paul Wesley posted a photo of a behind-the-scene shot. Although it is not confirmed if it is Dobrev or not, an alleged source says there is a resemblance with the actress and the girl on the photo. There is a possibility that Wesley is teasing a surprise for the season finale.
The show’s executive producer Julie Plec does not hide the fact that they want Dobrev’s character Elena Gilbert back. Paul Wesley, who will direct Season 8 and also play Stefan Salvatore, did not give any comment. Ian Somerhalder, however, is vocal that he is not too eager in wanting Dobrev back.
In another report by Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Somerhalder supposedly threw a “shade” at he and Dobrev’s intimate scenes and called it “cute.” This somehow shows the actor’s dislike of working with his ex.
To work around the situation, the source suggests the likelihood of bringing back the loveline of Dobrev’s Elena and Wesley’s Stefan instead. This can result to Somerhalder’s character lowered to a minor role.
What is next for The Vampire Diaries Season 8?
The show will end where it all started – in Mystic Falls. Dark Damon is back. And whatever the creature is in the vault, it sure drives Damon and Enzo to fall harder in the dark side. From the sneak peeks, Bonnie, Caroline and Stefan will work together to save Damon and Enzo. On a lighter note, Stefan and Caroline’s relationship is stronger than ever as they are finding comfort and safety at each other’s arms. There will also be progress for Bonnie and Enzo’s from Season 7.
Will Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev set aside their differences to work together or will their characters be left with no closure?
For fans to catch up, or re-watch the previous season, Netlix will show The Vampire Diaries Season 7 on Oct. 8, 2016. Season 8 premieres on The CW, Oct. 21.
