Another addition to the Outlander cast is made as Season 3 welcomes César Domboy to play the adult version of Fergus.
As fans of the show know, Jamie and Claire took in Fergus by the end of Season 2. According to Entertainment Weekly, Season 3 of Outlander will see the French pickpocket 20 years later as a grown man. It is not easy to make characters older, especially the actors who are already portraying those roles. It is obviously impossible to have a nearly 15-year old actor to look like a 35-year old either.
That is why César Domboy was cast to play the role as the story arc for the upcoming season will take place two decades later. The French actor was previously seen alongside Joseph Gordon Levitt in The Walk and in the TV series Borgia. Domboy has been very active in his home country as well.
The description of the adult Fergus as told by Starz via Outlander TV News states that he has grown up into a charming and extremely handsome man “With a strong sense of loyalty and decorum, despite his unconventional upbringing…”
The adult Fergus is also described as a romantic that easily falls in and out of love. Throughout the years, Fergus has never left Jamie’s side which makes him an important member of the Fraser family. Fergus was previously played by Romann Berrux in Season 2.
Upon the announcement of the news, Domboy expressed his gratitude on his Instagram account thanking all the fans of the show for the warm welcome he has received. It is safe to say that many fans are happy with him taking the reins as a grown-up Fergus.
Other new additions to the Outlander cast for Season 3 are Wil Johnson, John Bell and David Berry.
Outlander Season 3 premieres sometime in 2017 on Starz.
