Thor: Ragnarok Plot Leak

The premiere of Thor: Ragnarok is still over a year away but a leak in the movie’s plot sheds light on how Planet Hulk will play in the movie. Thor purists might be disappointed to know the plot will slightly veer away from the original Ragnarok storyline.

There will be major spoilers ahead so read at your own risk.

According to a leak by Schmoes Know, the movie will take place in the planet Ragnarok. This is opposed to the comics. Supposedly, Ragnarok is Thor’s cyborg clone created by Tony Stark after Thor was presumed dead in the Civil War.

Also, Planet Hulk’s original story happened in another planet called Sakaar, as per MovieWeb. In the movie, it will have a “Gladiator meets Mad Max aesthetic.”

This also reveals how Valkyrie and Skurge comes into the movie.

In Thor: Ragnarok, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hulk (Mark Ruffallo) will have to fight their way out in arenas. The arenas are run by Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum), who is a character known for his interest in games of skill and chance. He is aided by a tough enforcer Skurge (Karl Uban).

During these fights in Planet Hulk, where “warriors are made to fight for entertainment,” Thor and Hulk comes across Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), a “fellow contestant,” as stated in the plot leak.

Later on, Skurge will have a change of heart and side with the good guys to help them escape.

The story takes place after Loki rules Asgard as Odin following Thor: The Dark World (2013).

Regardless of the changes from the source materials, fans can rely on director Taika Waititi. He made a stir as a critically acclaimed director and Academy Award nominee for his movies like Two Cars, One Night (2004), What We Do in the Shadows (2014) and Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016).

Joining him is producer Kevin Feige with script penned by Stephany Folsom.

Thor: Ragnarok is set to arrive in theatres on Nov. 3, 2017.
