War for the Planet of the Apes’ plot is unveiled and it gives away spoilers for another epic battle of the two species – with one of them fueled by revenge. This movie will also reveal how Caesar will go from a revolutionary kind to a seminal figure for the apes.
The first footage for the third film in the reboot Planet of the Apes franchise will be released on Oct. 6 in New York Comic Con. With that, the official plot synopsis of War for the Planet of the Apes just rolled out, as per Blastr.
Caesar, played by Andy Serkis, struggles with his “darker instincts” as he suffers “unimaginable losses” of his kind. This led “his mythic quest to avenge his kind.”
His failed attempt at trying to live in peace will force him and the apes to face a deadly battle with an army of humans led by a vicious Colonel played by Woody Harrelson.
This battle will decide the fate of apes and humans. They will fight not only for each of their kind, but also for the planet’s future.
According to a previous interview with Matt Reeves, the movie’s director and writer, he revealed some plot spoilers to Gizmodo.
He says this will be where the movie they will tackle ape religion. It will basically be the “aspect of the story” and Caesar becomes a “very mythic character.”
The movie will be a generational story and how “Caesar becomes the first, truly mythic god-like character for the apes.”
The director also revealed spoilers about how this is going to be a very painful journey for Caesar and the apes. Along the way, they have realized how human the apes are and how they easily lose control against violence.
War for the Planet of the Apes is the sequel of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes in the reboot series of Planet of the Apes. The movie will arrive in theaters on July 14, 2017.
