Now that the official trailer of the period movie Allied, starring Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard, has been released, fans are all in a tizzy.
Social media is abuzz with conversations comparing the reel-life couple with Angeline Jolie and Brad Pitt, who once played similar roles. Jolie and Pitt fanatics could not help but compare their favorite couple with the roles played by Pitt and Cotillard in the new World War II drama.
The making of Allied stoked rumors of an affair between Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard. Those rumors turned out to be unfounded. Cotillard has dispelled malicious statements linking her personally to the embattled actor. As a tagline in the official trailer post on Facebook says, “Nothing is as it seems.”
The French actress stated in matter-of-fact manner that her long-time beau, actor-director Guillaume Canet, is all she needs, United Press International reported. Pitt has also been victimized by disparaging and false news.
Pitt and Cotillard’s screen roles did focus on how they encountered the pressures of war. In that sense, the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie divorce situation comes to mind. Irreconcilable differences reportedly prompted Jolie to quietly lay the groundwork to sever ties with the World War Z actor.
In any case, the Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard movie trailer awed many movie buffs. Several online viewers wrote on Facebook that they think it is a great movie. Others recalled Pitt’s role in Inglourious Bastards and the film where he co-starred with his ex, Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
Allied, slated for a November 23, 2016 release date, is directed by Robert Zameckis. Pitt plays an intelligence officer in the early 1940s who meets a French Resistance fighter and eventually falls for her.
In the film, the characters of Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard move to London and start a life together. Some people recall that while completing his film commitments in England, Pitt had Jolie and their six children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and the twins, Knox and Vivienne, close by. At that time, they moved to an eight-bedroom rented house in Surrey. Seems like a case of art imitating life?
