As production for the Justice League movie is still underway with filming to resume in Iceland, it is revealed that another familiar face in the DC Universe might be returning and possibly to reprise their role.
Justice League movie cast rumors state that Marc McClure will be reprising his role as Jimmy Olsen in the upcoming movie. It was during a screening of Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut that McClure hinted that he was going to appear in a movie set to premiere at the end of 2017. It could only mean that he will be appearing in the Justice League movie, right?
More Justice League movie cast rumors also suggest that McClure will be taking on a much smaller role in the movie.
It makes a lot of sense to have McClure appear in the upcoming Justice League movie. After all, McClure played the role throughout all of Christopher Reeve’s movies and he also made an appearance in the SuperGirl movie. McClure also appeared in Smallville Season 7 as Dax-Ur too; so having him serves as a nice nod to the DC movies of the past.
Fans were left a bit annoyed at how Jimmy Olsen was killed off in Batman vs. Superman, so maybe McClure’s appearance would make up for Jimmy’s sudden demise despite having stayed alive in the original Superman movies.
For now, those Justice League movie cast rumors might stay as rumors until an official announcement comes out.
Meanwhile, McClure is part of the cast of an upcoming DCEU TV show called Powerless that stars Vanessa Hudgens.
The Justice League movie premieres on November 17, 2017. It stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ray Fisher, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Jesse Eisenberg, Willem Dafoe, Amy Adams, Jeremy Irons, J.K. Simmons, Amber Heard and Julian Lewis Jones.
