Controversial actress Amber Heard thinks it is fascinating to don a costume and get into the character of Mera in the Justice League movie. Hollywood insiders shared details by releasing the first official photograph of the actress in sea goddess finery.
The first official look of Heard as Mera, Aquaman’s Atlantean queen, is head-turning. Garbed in her sea queen attire, she is seen standing at the water’s edge. The first look at Amber Heard all dressed up in green scaly costume and regal head gear was presented by Warner Bros./DC Entertainment. Justice League Director Zack Snyder excitedly tweeted that he just saw the hydrokinetic vision pop out of the sea.
The first look of Mera, the strong but quick-tempered queen of Atlantis and Aquaman’s significant other, jolted avid D.C. comics fans. Online trolls set their tongues wagging. While some online readers could not mask their excitement and described Heard as “hot.” Others lamented that such flicks were getting boring and convoluted as time passes.
Heard, 30, has been subjected to close public scrutiny prior to and after divorcing Hollywood icon Johnny Depp. Joining the DC cinematic universe ups Heard’s film profile. The model-actress, who happens to be a self-proclaimed bisexual siren, had stated in past interviews that she was tired of being typecast in roles befitting blond and attractive women.
Heard has also decried being regarded by people based on who she was with. Her most controversial partner, to date, has been Depp. The bewitching actress snagged Depp when they appeared together in the 2011 film The Rum Diary. Heard played the love interest of the character taken by Depp. The couple lived together and eventually got married in February 2015. By August 2016, amidst intense media scrutiny, they got divorced.
In the Justice League movie, Mera, as portrayed by Amber Heard, is being floated around as most probably the voice of reason that will prod Aquaman to commence the journey that will team him up with other super heroes to help humankind.
The appearance of Amber Heard as Mera in the upcoming Justice League movie may be fleeting, but it will set the pace for a meatier in the solo 2018 film of Jason Moma, Aquaman, under the directorial helm of James Wan.
