The biggest movie in the MCU is taking shape in the form of Avengers: Infinity War. However, Spider-Man might or might not be appearing in it.
Actor Tom Holland talked about Spider-Man’s appearance and involvement in other MCU films in a recent interview. Holland said it is possible for Spider-Man to appear in future MCU films after his solo movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming. He stated that “It’s all up in the air…I believe some sort of deal is in the mix, but I’m unclear as to what that deal is.”
The rights to Spider-Man still belong to Sony so it makes sense for Marvel to strike up another deal for Spider-Man to continue appearing in the MCU.
Everyone loved Spider-Man’s appearance in Captain America: Civil War; so it would be very surprising if the web-slinger will not appear for Avengers: Infinity War. Still, fans can hope that he will be on board to fight Thanos with the rest of the heroes.
Previously, Marvel producer Kevin Feige talked about the build up for Avengers: Infinity War during a sneak peek event for Doctor Strange. Feige stated that Infinity War would no longer be a 2-parter but instead be a singular movie in itself with another movie that has a different story. Feige also stated that Infinity War is inspired by everything that has been established and everything that will come. As to how different the sequel will be to Avengers: Infinity War? That is yet to be revealed.
Despite the uncertainty of Spider-Man coming for Infinity War, Feige stated that everyone is going to be there. Would that mean the inclusion of TV characters Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Daredevil and Luke Cage as well? We just have to wait and see.
Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled to premiere on May 4, 2018.
