Teen Mom OG’s couple Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra have always been candid in their rough childhood and personal challenges. The latest revelation discloses that during their teens, at only one week after giving birth and placing their biological daughter in adoption, was arrested for using drugs.
Around the time when the two are filming MTV’s 16 & Pregnant, they apparently got arrested for marijuana possession. However, it was not seen or mentioned on the show.
At 2009, after Lowell gave birth to daughter Carly and put her in a subsequent adoption placement, Lowell, along with longtime boyfriend Baltierra, were arrested for marijuana possession.
According to the police report, four youngsters with the two identified as Teen Mom OG’s Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra were seen hanging around an old building at night. As written by the responding officer, he saw one of the male subjects throwing something on the ground as the group began to disperse and move away.
A “marijuana blunt” was found around the area where the joint was tested for marijuana which then came out positive.
As minors, the four were sent back to their parents. Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra pled guilty. After paying $200 as fine, their sentence of 20 days in jail was indefinitely suspended.
Until now, the two are still struggling with some issues in their life. Just recently, Catelynn admitted to her therapist some dark thoughts that have been swirling on her mind. Once her daughter Novalee reaches the right age, she would have to explain her about her mental health.
But like Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra have proven, it is not always dark times. Things eventually get better. After seven years from that arrest, they are now married, have their own home, have become inspiring public speakers and wonderful parents to their daughter.
Teen Mom OG airs every Monday on MTV.
