Lady Gaga’s recent guesting at Saturday Night Live, where she belted out Million Reasons, amazed audiences. Some people wondered if she could be thinking of her ex-fiancé Taylor Kinney when singing such songs.
The song Million Reasons is part of Lady Gaga’s new album Joanne. It is the second song that music buffs have heard from Joanna, after upbeat rock-pop song Perfect Illusion hit the airwaves. Many noted the overarching theme of sadness in the new songs.
Some quarters have likewise asked the Billboard chart-topping singer whether Perfect Illusion referred to her failed romance with Kinney, something that she denied. The singer assured fans that Perfect Illusion did not reflect how her relationship with Kinney went.
Known for her innovative performance onstage and eye-riveting get-ups, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (the artist’s real name) has had an illustrious career that spanned decades. From playing lead roles in her high school productions, she eventually formed a band with her friends, and later on produced and recorded electropop tunes that she sent to American music industry executives.
Successful international concert tours and albums in recent years catapulted Lady Gaga to worldwide fame. Lady Gaga fans clearly remember how the Applause singer wowed audiences when she sang a medley of songs from the motion picture The Sound of Music at the 87th Academy Awards. In more recent years, Lady Gaga has accepted television roles, too. She appeared in American Horror Story: Hotel.
It was in February 2015 that Lady Gaga became engaged to Taylor Kinney. She mentioned in some interviews that she felt that the Chicago Fire actor was “The One.” In her Instagram account, Lady Gaga wrote that she and her then boyfriend Taylor Kinney “really love each other.” She also said they were soulmates, and like most other couple, experience a falling out.
