The premiere of Star Wars: Episode VIII (8) may be a long way away, and will be bringing in a host of familiar faces and new characters. It is revealed that among those characters would be the Knights of Ren.
The Knights of Ren were briefly referenced and revealed back in The Force Awakens. They were shown in a vision that Rey had upon touching Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber in Maz Kanata’s basement in her castle. It goes without saying that the Knights of Ren will be further explored in Star Wars: Episode VIII (8) and, being led by Kylo Ren, will most likely face off against Luke and Rey.
As seen from the set photos showing the very dark scenes that were filmed in Ireland, there are a number of figures dressed in black. The scenes that were being filmed in particular are supposedly part of a flashback, most likely Luke’s. According to the locals who witnessed the filming, there was a lot of wire work involved which could mean that Luke, who is shown at the scene used the force to push them away.
If the scenes are indeed part of a flashback or vision, then it can be expected that Star Wars: Episode VIII (8) will have a lot of those scenes. It also means that the Knights of Ren will have a lot more screen time as well. This is a good thing because it can give everyone a look into not only the backstory of the Knights of Ren, but even Kylo Ren himself.
So far, all this is just speculation and nothing has yet been confirmed and the scenes that were shot could possibly be for another thing entirely.
Apart from the Knights of Ren, there are leaks that suggest that a new kind of stormtrooper will be introduced in Star Wars: Episode VIII (8). It is said that a stormtrooper called the Executioner will be introduced and will most likely be going head to head with Finn.
In other news, Donald Glover has recently been cast as the young Lando Calrissian in the Han Solo standalone movie set for 2018.
Star Wars: Episode VIII (8) is scheduled to premiere on December 15, 2017.
