It was previously announced that The Boondock Saints 3: Legion is happening and is currently in its development stage. Actor Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead fame also confirmed the news as well. It was during an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit that Reedus confirmed the franchise’s sequel and among those questions were about whether or not The Boondock Saints 3 is going to happen.

While the rest of the plot for The Boondock Saints 3: Legion is still unknown, it is said to pick up after the events of the second movie. According to Duffy, the title pertains to the legions of people who will follow in the footsteps of the McManus brothers in taking matters into their own hands to clean up the streets.

The sequel is also said to go back to when the McManus brothers committed their first crime apart from exploring their status as folk heroes.
