Why did Kim Fields call it quits in Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 9? Did accusations that state she is not a fit in the unscripted reality TV show push her to leave?
“Get in and get out.”
Kim says it is what her mother has told her in the beginning of Real Housewives of Atlanta.
“Listen to your mama,” the Facts of Life actress adds.
Kim joined Real Housewives of Atlanta during Season 8, which is her first and last season of the show. Ever since the director joined the hit reality TV series, she was attacked with accusations that she did not fit in the show. Her career was blasted as well.
She has decided to no longer wait for Bravo to decide whether her contract will be renewed or not. Instead, she decided to quit the show on her own.
The announcement that she will not be back for Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 9 was made in The Rickey Smiley Morning Show while chatting with the hosts. In the announcement, she also compared herself to Brett Favre and the quarterback’s single season with the NFL team New York Jets and concludes with, “I’m done.”
However, she is grateful for the experience of doing a “genre” that she has been asked to do before. Additionally, she has found a way to do it according to “what made sense” for her team and family.
“It made me even more so realize I love the scripted,” Kim says as she gets a deeper understanding on what path she wants to take on her career.
As one door closes, another opens. A new film is on the way for Kim as she stars with an ensemble cast in A Question of Faith.
Kim Fields also lasted for seven episodes of Dancing With The Stars Season 2 and put up a solid performance even though she did not emerge as the winner. Kim is also working on her memoir which will center on her personal life and career in the entertainment industry.
Meanwhile, Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 9 aired its first episode on Nov. 6 on Bravo.
