‘Star Wars: Episode 8’: Kylo Ren’s Costume Design Similar to Darth Vader’s

Although the premiere of Star Wars: Episode 8 is still a long way away, more updates emerge regarding the movie’s details. Included in those details is the design of Kylo Ren’s costume as well as Luke’s.

Kylo Ren was previously said to still struggle with the dilemma he was facing back in The Force Awakens. In Star Wars: Episode 8, it is hinted that Kylo Ren might not only undergo an emotional or psychological change, his costume design will also be upgraded quite a bit. In fact, Kylo Ren’s costume design might become more familiar to fans of the original trilogy as his costume is said to resemble that of Darth Vader’s.

Everyone knows Kylo Ren is so eager to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps. So how exactly will his outfit in the sequel resemble Darth Vader’s getup?

Not only will Kylo Ren have more black on his costume design for Star Wars: Episode 8, a cape is included. Was this perhaps the cape that Darth Vader once wore? Vader’s lightsaber was supposedly sold in the black market as a Sith relic to the senators after all. Kylo Ren might have gotten his hands on his grandpa’s cape and decided to wear it.

On the other hand, Kylo Ren’s uncle and former Jedi master Luke is said to don a costume that was similar to the black one he wore in Return of the Jedi. Apparently, in Star Wars: Episode 8, there will be a training sequence in which Luke sports these dark clothes, with a black cloak to match. In those scenes it is also said to be raining down hard and Luke will be holding a staff in place of a lightsaber.

Actress Daisy Ridley did say that Luke will showcase his badass-ness in Star Wars: Episode 8 and supposedly acquires new Jedi abilities over the years he was away. Previous rumors also hinted that Luke single-handedly takes on The Knights of Ren as well but this has yet to be confirmed.
