The Young and the Restless actor Corey Sligh is arrested for child molestation. The female victim is under 10 years old at the time of the alleged molestation incident, according to a law enforcement officer.
The 28-year-old was arrested last month, Oct. 14 in his home in Georgia. Later that same day, he was released on $22,000 bond. The actor was cuffed due to allegations of child molestation as reported by the female victim’s parents. The incident was filed by the girl’s parents on Sept. 24 in Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
Lt. Jay Baker of the sheriff’s office Cherokee County, Georgia told TheWrap that the female victim is under the age of 10 when the sexual abuse happened. Baker also confirmed Sligh knows the girl.
The molestation occurred from April to September of this year. It is not revealed how many times the actor attacked the girl during the five-month period.
The Young and the Restless actor denies the allegations. He says he is “innocent” and that he will be “fighting this until the end.” The actor also adds “the truth will prevail.”
It is not the first time Corey made headlines that are police-related. Two years ago, Corey was assaulted on the Thanksgiving of 2014. He was brought to the hospital in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment. He suffered multiple injuries and a broken arm after he was intentionally run over a vehicle and beaten right after.
He was with his girlfriend Alisa Berhorst at the time of the incident while they are delivering a Thanksgiving meal to their working friend at a Rite Aid in Los Angeles.
The suspects Nikola Ilic, 24, and Dusan Lilic, 26, were both arrested and charged with battery and assault with deadly a weapon, respectively. Lilic was held in lieu of $85,000 bail.
Corey is seen as a recurring character in the soap opera The Young and the Restless playing a waiter and bartender.
