The Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton, accepted her defeat against President-elect Donald Trump. However, reports say she mentioned that the influence of the letter forwarded to the Congress by FBI Director James Comey was one of the main causes of her loss and it was his entire fault. She added that the second letter Comey submitted was even more damaging than the first one.
Hillary Clinton gave comments about the failed presidential campaign in a conference call with major donors on Saturday, Nov. 12. She said that there were many causes why an election like this is not successful.
She also pointed out that FBI Director James Comey’s letter raised doubts. The content of the letter was the Clinton-related emails that were discovered and found on the laptop of former Congressman Anthony Weiner, who had been married to Clinton’s top aide, Huma Abedin.
One of Clinton’s supporters, however, said that there were many reasons that still needed to be looked at and studied. He felt that even Clinton herself was not trying to analyze the election results and had put much blame on Comey.
Still, other reports say that Clinton has no one to blame but herself because she did not address the issue seriously. Some suggest that she was extremely careless in handling serious and highly classified information.
According to one of Bill Clinton’s advisers, the couple, Bill and Hillary Clinton, had an argument on the days leading to the campaign. The source said that Former President Clinton did not believe Hillary’s excuse that FBI Director James Comey was to blame. All the blame belonged to the campaign manager, chairman and the Democratic nominee herself. He also believed that the e-mail scandal had little impact on the outcome.
Even after the election and defeat, Hillary Clinton is still addressing concerns about the e-mail scandal. She stands by the belief that the e-mails were bogus and proven to be groundless.
