Five episodes from The Walking Dead Season 7 are in. With only three more episodes until the show wraps up for its midseason finale, here are comic book spoilers to look forward to in the upcoming episodes.
To those who do not want to get spoiled, turn your heads away as spoilers both from the TV series and the comics will be given away.
1. A BRAND NEW SOCIETY IN THE WALKING DEAD
In the next episode of The Walking Dead Season 7, which is going to have a time slot of 70 minutes, Swear is a bit cryptic. The official synopsis for the episode reveals “someone” to stumble upon “a brand new society” and it is “unlike anything seen before.”
One of the speculations for the new society is Oceanside will be introduced by Tara and Heath on their long supply run. Meanwhile, another suggestion includes Rick discovering The Kingdom as he leaves Alexandria without a word of his destination.
Most importantly, the question remains on whose side will this new society be on.
2. MAGGIE STEPS UP
In Hilltop, the latest episode showed the leadership skills of Maggie who, despite suffering some complications from her pregnancy, is the one who gave orders to fight as the community is attacked by a horde of walkers. On the other hand, Gregory, the leader, stayed inside his room the whole time.
Jesus has already seen Maggie Rhee’s, as what she rightfully calls herself, ability to become their leader and it is only a matter of time before others will see it too. Sooner or later, Gregory will be ousted from his undeserved position.
What he deserved though is that punch from Maggie in Go Getters.
3. ENID FINDS HOME
Enid’s character is unique to the tv series but the plotline of her character certainly appears to be taken from someone else in the comics: Sophia. In the AMC series, Sophia had long perished yet in the comics, she lives on.
Alteration from the comics serves Enid’s character to take up the storyline of Sophia who, in the comics, gets taken in by Maggie after losing her mother Carol who committed suicide. However, in the series, Carol remains a survivor.
4. SASHA ENTERING THE SANCTUARY
Another character whose arc became clearer from the latest episode is Sasha, who gets her story from another perished character. In the comics, it was Holly who became Abraham’s love interest and who craved for revenge after her partner was killed by the Saviors. Obviously, Sasha will be the one to take care of that revenge this Season 7.
This, however, also entails a foreshadowing on what Sasha will do in the Sanctuary if The Walking Dead tv series continues to follow Holly’s storyline.
5. A SONG TO BE SUNG
The following episode will be another extended one as there will be a whopping 90 minutes running time for Episode 7 Sing Me A Song. Spoilers reveal this will most likely be taken from the comics as Negan and Carl meets again after Carl hops onto the Saviors’ truck which is on its way to the Sanctuary.
The episode’s official synopsis also confirmed speculations as it state “a deeper look at the Sanctuary and the world of the Saviors.”
Yes, a song will be sung too and it will be twisted moment.
6. CARL AND NEGAN
The episode will also mark the start of Carl and Negan’s bizarre relationship, as per the source material. Negan, in the comics, somehow develops a respect for the young one-eyed defiant. Despite Carl pulling a stunt in the Sanctuary, Negan will maintain his relationship with Rick.
But that does not ensue Carl will be off the hook from Negan’s manipulations.
7. OUT OF CONTROL
The midseason finale of The Walking Dead will certainly end with a bang and keep viewers reeling for the second half of Season 7. In Episode 8 Hearts Still Beating, spoilers state things to “quickly spin out of control” as Negan pays a visit to Alexandria again.
Will this mean an imminent death from another Alexandrian?
