With all the drama surrounding several Genoa City residents, familiar faces are also coming back into view in The Young and the Restless. New huge spoilers say that Dr. Neville might be coming back to Genoa City soon, along with other behind-the-scenes changes.
Incoming head writer Sally Sussman has big plans for the show when she steps in and takes the reins. So what does this mean? Well, new The Young and the Restless spoilers hint that Sussman will take the show in another direction once her first episode airs in a few weeks. Sussman plans to bring the show back to basics, back to what made The Young and the Restless a popular daytime television series.
So, one of the changes that everyone can expect will be a change in characterization when it comes to the main characters of the show, starting with Newman patriarch, Victor. Most of the trouble that he is in centers around work, but that should also give way for some realistic family time. It is highly like that there will not be any more doppelgangers among other things for him.
Sharon is another character that will be taken to a different direction. She has lately become the center of all the drama surrounding Christian, but under Sussman’s supervision, Sharon will grow and rebuild her life.
Previously, Sussman mentioned that Adam Newman is no more, and Justin Hartley will not return either. This means a bigger chance of a Nick and Chelsea love line, and more time for Sharon to see Christian again. But seeing as Adam is a popular character, time will tell on whether he can really be back.
Dr. Neville’s Return?
In the meantime, will the change in direction Sally Sussman will bring mean the return of Dr. Neville? New The Young and the Restless spoilers say that there is a chance that he will be back in Genoa City. Dr. Neville was previously providing comic relief while sharing amazing chemistry with Ashley.
Sussman believes that Eileen Davidson is a talented actress that needs a more solid storyline on the show. So, having veteran soap actor Michael E. Knight reprise his role as Dr. Simon Neville would be a good fit for the show’s new direction.
The Young and the Restless airs Mondays to Fridays on CBS.
