The director of Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard’s movie Allied, which is now showing, revealed that the two actors had an instant “tremendous chemistry.” Will this confirmation reignite rumors that a secret romance is going on with the two in the midst of Brad’s divorce from Angelina Jolie?
The Oscar-winning director of Allied, Robert Zemeckis, who is famously known for Beowulf, Forrest Gump, The Walk and more, shared his thrill and excitement on working on a totally new genre for his first time with “two fantastic actors.”
It is both the first time for Zemeckis to make a movie set in World War II and a romantic thriller. Since he liked being “challenged,” the spy film is really “interesting” for him, he says.
Brad Pitt-Marion Cotillard Chemistry
The chemistry of Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard is essential in order to set the romance and thrill of the film. Director Zemeckis said on their first day of doing a scene together, the two instantly had a “tremendous chemistry” together that he just knew right then and there that the film is “going to be great.”
Zemeckis also praised Brad Pitt who was “absolutely focus” and “professional” every single time. He was also especially “thrilled” on how the 52-year-old actor “reached down and pulled out an emotional performance.”
Romance and Thrilled-Filled Movie: Allied
Marion Cotillard had also shared that their movie is really “moving” and “emotional” as compared to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith, which is also a story about two spies who fell in love.
Despite the controversy following Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce, the World War Z actor did not flake out of his duties in promoting their movie Allied. In fact, despite organizers’ protest for Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard to walk the red carpet separately during their London premiere, the actor ignored the instruction completely. Instead, he walked towards Marion Cotillard and even high-fived the French actress.
Zemeckis also commended Brad for “doing everything that he can do” even though he has a “lot of stuff going on in his personal life.”
“He’s here for us the best he can be,” Robert Zemeckis says of Brad Pitt.
