Fixer Upper hosts Chip and Joanna Gaines, who happened to belong to a church with a pastor that teaches about one man and one woman marriage and against same-sex relationships, have been plagued with ill-mannered comments by the LGBTQ community and in social media.
It has been weeks now and according to the news, the couple has never specified or campaigned discrimination towards LGBTQ community in any form. Several write-ups said that the Fixer Upper hosts were discriminating the LGBTQ’s social and political concerns by not including any gay couples in their show on HGTV.
Despite the scandal, the Home and Garden Television network has been incredibly busy with the show as television hosts are more distinguished than ever. The show has been loved by many and is continuously getting high ratings despite the hosts’ scandal and it is believed that Fixer Upper Season 4 will do well as it carries on into 2017.
Business is Booming for Chip and Joanna Gaines
The couple from Waco, Texas are not just reality TV show hosts that renovate homes, but are also engaged in several businesses. Joanna Gaines’ recent achievement is a clothing line with Matilda Jane. Prior to that, she has a line of Fixer Upper inspired paint through KILZ. She also has her own rugs with Loioi Fabrics and a line of furniture with Standard and International Home Furnishings Market in North Carolina.
The couple also introduced the Magnolia Magazine their quarterly lifestyle Magazine for the show’s brand. Thomas Nelson, on the other hand, published The Magnolia Story about the couple and the significance of the magnolia flower in their relationship. Lastly, there is the couple’s Magnolia House Bed & Breakfast that never goes empty every day. It was said that the couple is still blessed despite the scandal they’re facing. They are counting more blessings but they keep themselves humble above all.
