Chip and Joanna Gaines Scandal: 'Fixer Upper' Hosts Receives Support From Gay Writer
Fixer Upper hosts Chip and Joanna Gaines are attacked on their same-sex marriage views.

Chip and Joanna Gaines, hosts of Fixer Upper, are put into the limelight after an article about the couple went viral. However, the said article did not talk about their home improvement skills but rather on their beliefs and views when it comes to the LGBTQ community that turned into a full-blown scandal.

Fixer Upper Faces “Sexist” Scandal

Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines are under fire after a Buzzfeed article penned by Kate Aurthur was published detailing that the pastor of the church where the couple belongs to does not support gays and same-sex marriage. It then turned the focal point to the show, Fixer Upper, and how it also shares the same views which are allegedly proven by not having any gay couples.

Regardless of the couple’s views on the mentioned issue, is it worth putting their beliefs in the forefront despite their show being a home improvement series?

Fans Stands With Chip and Joanna Gaines

Those who like Fixer Upper expressed that what they enjoy about the show, aside from Joanna’s “unique aesthetic” is the host themselves – Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines. The two are simply genuine in loving what they do and loving each other.

That is why they have captured the hearts of many viewers, which resulted in high ratings of their show. And in turn, they were caught by the scrutinizing eyes of journalists who latched on the liked personalities.

Meanwhile, Brandon Ambrosino, a gay writer, also stated that it is not right to shame and mock conservatives and religious people just because of their beliefs. They do not deserve to be “fired” or be the “butt of a popular Buzzfeed article,” the writer continues.

Ambrosino also stated that it is “no longer okay” to “write cutesy articles shaming religious people as homophobic.”

With the mixed comments that are hurled on Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines’ way, many still think that attacking the couple for their views, which is supposed to be private in the first place since the subject was deemed not to be something the couple was compelled to address, are both an “irrelevant” and “illiberal” scandal.
