In this season of hope and appreciation of good tidings, the story of Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves offers much inspiration to those going through times of upheaval. While many people know Keanu as a film star, a greater number are unaware that the John Wick: Chapter 2 actor has gone through the most harrowing life experiences.
The star of Speed, The Matrix, and several other movies has weathered many storms in life, yet he has been resilient, responding positively to difficult situations and showing his true character in the process.
Here are some of the sad and challenging moments in the life of Keanu:
His father abandoned his family when Keanu was only three.
Though there was some form of contact until Keanu reached the age of six, after his parents’ divorce the family relocated to different cities. As a child, the John Wick actor changed high schools more than thrice, and he learned in a different way because he had dyslexia. In the end, Keanu had to drop out of high school.
Some of the people he loved and treasured died.
One was his best friend River Phoenix, the American musician and actor who passed away at the age of 23 because of combined drug intoxication. Keanu said he thinks about River often. He considered River a great person and a good actor.
Grief-stricken and Down But Not Out
More deaths came years later. Keanu fell in love with actress and personal assistant Jennifer Syme and they eventually got married, but tragedy struck when their child turned out stillborn. Just 18 months later, Syme perished in a car accident. In addition, he had a sister, Kim, who battled leukemia for more than 10 years.
Other individuals would have crumbled or despaired with all the losses he suffered, but Keanu survived the tough times. He plodded on to accomplish his purpose and goals in life.

Keanu has been spotted riding the subway like a regular person. He can gladly give up his seat to a woman without hesitation.
These are but some of the reasons why Keanu, the private individual, is a whole lot more admirable than any of the film characters he has played.
Keanu appears to be happy with the simple things in life — riding his bike, spending time with his sisters or friends, having a good conversation, learning, enjoying with wine and glorious food with them, being in the desert or communing with nature.
The Actor’s Upcoming Movie Project
One similarity that Keanu has with the John Wick character he adeptly portrays is sheer will. The 52-year-old Canadian actor will be seen reprising his role as legendary hitman John Wick in John Wick: Chapter 2.
In that movie, “John Wick’s colorful personality and palette” is retained along with the promise of even more ballistic bombardment.
“I’ll kill them all,” as Keanu’s character says.
In real life, Keanu Reeves may be killing people with his kindness.
