2017 definitely gave the 50-year-old pop star a wonderful blessing for the new year. Janet Jackson welcomes her first child, a son named Eissa, with husband Wissam Al Mana on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
Janet Jackson Had “Stress-Free, Healthy Delivery”
A representative of the singer-songwriter told People that Jackson and Al Mana are both “thrilled to welcome their new son” named Eissa Al Mana in the world. At 50 years old, Eissa is Jackson’s first child.
Positively, the rep shared that the Rhythm Nation singer had a “stress-free, healthy delivery.” And as of now, the singer is “resting comfortably,” adds the rep.
At first, Jackson had kept her pregnancy private even though speculations had already flown around.
In a video shared on social media in April, Jackson announced that she is postponing her Unbreakable World Tour because of a “sudden change.” She also addressed her fans that it was “important” for them to be the first to know.
At the time, Jackson did not confirm her pregnancy yet and only said that she and her husband are “planning our family” thus she has to “delay the tour.”
For a few months, the singer had maintained a low profile. While running some errands, she was spotted in September shopping for baby supplies at a furniture store called Back in Action in London.
Her baby bump was barely noticeable with a dark sweater, scarf, and sweatpants.
It was in October when Janet Jackson finally revealed that she and husband Al Mana is expecting a baby and said, “We thank God for our blessing.” She also shared a photo of her baby bump.
A source told the same publication that Jackson was “super excited about her pregnancy.” Moreover, she was doing “extremely well” and that the When I Think of You singer felt “very good about everything.”
Janet Jackson and her husband Qatari businessman Al Mana married in 2012, yet their marriage was only revealed publicly in 2013. With the welcoming of the couple’s first bundle of joy, their plan for a family was undoubtedly completed to start the year.
