Fans have been anticipating the return of Outlander Season 3. The show’s writer Matthew B. Roberts spilled some details – like a lot of weeping in the finale, apparently.
The hit series based on the novels by Diana Gabaldon has captured the hearts of many. And with the details of the upcoming season still hidden, Roberts’ short and vague answers were able to satisfy fans’ need for more information nonetheless.
Some Finale Beans Spilled
When asked about the finale of Season 3, Roberts said on Twitter it is going to be “super exciting” and “spine-tingling.” He also added a promise, or a warning, that it is going to be something that “never before” happened.
Moreover, there will undoubtedly be a rollercoaster of emotions like laughing, sighing, cheering, smiling, screaming – and weeping in between all of them, tweeted Roberts. Whether the weeping will be out of sadness or joy, Robert ambiguously answered, “Haven’t you heard of tears of joy?”
Meanwhile, like any other adaptations, it is inevitable to stray from the source material. Roberts wrote that it is a “challenge” to chug in all juicy parts of the book in 59 minutes. And the books, without a doubt, have “a lot of juice.”
Some More Waiting Still
Even though there is no announced date on when Outlander Season 3 will return yet, filming is reportedly halfway through with the actors seen shooting in Glasgow during the latter part of 2016.
It is certain, however, that the upcoming season will air sometime this year on Starz.
It was also previously revealed that the new season will open with the Battle of Culloden immediately. Gabaldon also revealed that Jamie Fraser, played by Scottish actor Sam Heughan, “looked scary” in the first episode.
Additionally, a lot of new faces will welcome viewers in the upcoming season.
With Outlander Season 3 based on the third book of the series, fans will surely still be left gripping on what is about to happen despite already knowing the events from the page to the screen with the production’s creative take.
