Anna Kendrick recently shared snaps of the cast of the highly anticipated musical comedy flick Pitch Perfect 3 on social media, exciting fans no end. In the third installment of the movie, she reprises her role as Beca Mitchell, a rebellious college freshman who showcases her singing talent by joining an a cappella group called the Barden Bellas.
Rejoining Anna in Pitch Perfect 3 are Rebel Wilson as Fat Amy, Brittany Snow as Chloe, Anna Camp as Aubrey, Hana Mae Lee as Lilly, plus some of the members of the old gang. They flashed their smiles in the Instagram snap that Anna captioned with a single word: “team.”
In a more recent snap, Anna and the Pitch Perfect 3 gang are shown at the Super Bowl 2017 games, thrilling fans and movie buffs who described the girls as “goddess, beautiful and amazing.” It will be recalled that the Green Bay Packers were in Pitch Perfect 2.
Universal Pictures has moved the movie’s release from July to December 2017. The upcoming film will be under the directorial helm of Trish Sie, and will feature new actors — NBC’s Timeless actor Matt Lanter and The Crown’s John Lithgow — among the new additions to the cast.
What the Stars Have Been Up To
Anna starred in several films that hit theaters in 2016, including the comedy-drama The Hollars and DreamWorks’ Trolls. The versatile singer-actress has covered much ground in her trajectory from thespian pursuits to box-office queen. A few months ago, she also launched her memoir, Scrappy Little Nobody.
Rebel Wilson, for her part, has snagged roles in several film projects. Like Anna Kendrick, Rebel’s singing and acting talent got to be showcased in a hit theatrical production (Guys and Dolls). The Aussie celebrity’s portrayal of the overconfident yet endearing character Fat Amy in the Pitch Perfect films that has led her to easily break through a wider audience.
Rebel played a key role in the American romantic comedy film How to Be Single (that also featured Fifty Shades Darker actress Dakota Johnson). The movie held its own alongside the much-hyped film Deadpool and Kung Fu Panda 3.
The movie’s previous director, Elizabeth Banks will also be reprising her role as Gail in the third installment, while remaining a producer. She bowed out of taking on the directorial task due to conflict of schedule with her parental responsibilities. Nonetheless, she stated in interviews that the third installment will not be similar with the first two box-office hits and will have an enormous infusion of energy.
